Bishop Museum

We had a great time at the Bishop Museum.  You can view their website here for prices and open times/dates: http://www.bishopmuseum.org/.  We enjoyed the science museum the most because they have fun interactive exhibits, live fish, and even hot lava that you can see.  There was a cool dinosaur exhibit that I really enjoyed as well.  The planetarium had the worst dome show I have ever seen in my life.  All they did was talk about how cool they thought their non-digital light thingy was.  So I'd suggest skipping that unless they come up with something actually not-lame in the future.  The Hawaiian part of the exhibits was interesting.  The building it was in was very cool and I loved the suspended sea creatures.  We learned a little bit more about Hawaiian history and overall had a nice experience.  The one thing about this museum is that it is quite expensive, but if you are planning on going to any museum in Hawaii, this is the one to go to.

Makiki Trail Hike

The Makiki Trail is in beautiful Manoa Valley.  It has a variety of landscape along the trail and is lush and beautiful.  It is a loop trail, and we decided to go to the left first so that we'd take the steeper side going down instead of up.  Along the trail there were tons of strawberry guava trees and other fruit trees ripe for the picking.  This is a lovely hike and recommended if you want something a little harder than the easy hikes but still very enjoyable.

Don't forget to take a drive along Tantalus if you're in the area.  It's an incredible road with beautiful views of Waikiki and Diamondhead.

Kuliouou Ridge and Valley Trails

The Kuliouou Ridge and Valley trails are two trails that branch off from the same starting point.  The Valley trail is more green, and the Ridge trail has beautiful views.  The Valley trail is shorter and straightforward, while the Ridge trail is really long and kind of a maze.  I let Blake go ahead of me on the Ridge trail and we didn't find each other again until we reached the trailhead at the end.  My personal suggestion would be the Valley trail, but both of them are beautiful.

Turtle Bay/Kuilima Cove

Turtle Bay is a good snorkeling spot during the summer.  You can park in Turtle Bay's parking lot to get to the cove.  It has a different look to it than some other snorkeling spots on the island, so it is fun to explore.  In the winter, the waves might be too high here to snorkel though, so be careful.
